When we first started The Big Green Initiative, the plan was to do pop-up shops around town & at local events. Well, it quickly became obvious that our community needed something more consistent & so we came up with this idea of having "micro-shops" around town. The goal was to make our eco-products easily available 7 days a week on every side of town so the good people of St. Augustine could continue with their eco-efforts & live their lives with every Earth preserving intention their beautiful hearts desire! The micro-shop was born! We now have 3, fully stocked shops around town inside some incredible local business.
Our first & one of my favorite places in town is The Coconut Barrel Artisan Market. This local haven is the epitome of shopping small & supporting the people of our community's incredible artistic talents. Inside, you will find over 200 local vendors selling one of a kind, hand crafted products from unique foods, to art in every form, to gifts suited for every person you've ever known & beyond...it is such a fun shop to explore! We have a fully stocked space in the front of the market.
Their hours are Monday-Saturday 10-6pm & Sunday 12-5pm.

The second spot we set up shop was at Genung's Fish Camp on the south side of St. Augustine off A1A across from the beach. This little oasis sits on the Matanzas River & encapsulates what makes our town such a beautiful place to live. The fish camp hosts some pretty amazing hangouts brought together by the Matanzas Riverkeeper, Jen Lombark, and the owner, Adam Morley, always on a mission to raise awareness about plastic pollution and working tirelessly to keep our waterways clean and our wildlife protected. They operate a fully volunteer powered vessel called "The Litter Gitter" that takes trips through our river to the small islands to remove thousands of pounds of trash & debris that has washed ashore. They are incredbily active in the community and we are so fortunate to have these Eco-Warriors fighting on the front lines preserving our precious eco-system. I was honored to set up a micro shop inside their bait and tackle shop. Inside they are stacked with fishing gear, bait, snacks, beverages and also rent out kayaks to take out to enjoy the beauty of our river. My family loves to come by often, get a bucket of bait and fish off the dock, taking a pause to admire the beauty of our planet. It is a pleasure to be apart of their mission & so inspiring to see the way the community gathers here regularly to enjoy blessings from the sea & discuss the well being of our beloved environment.
They are open Sunday-Thursday 7am-6pm Friday&Saturday 7am-7pm

Our third and most zero-wastey shop is inside The Local Refillery. Our town is so lucky to have this new gem filled with locally made goods and a hand crafted botanical coffee & tea bar. They are constantly adding new selections to their Refill Station that is filled with bulk jugs of body care oils, local honey, soaps for your bathroom & kitchen and several cleaning supply options (and more!). They also have a giant beautiful wall full of organic, bulk herbs, spices and tea as well as a large variety of bulk foods like nuts, beans, grains and super food powders. They host meditation sound baths in their beautiful space as well as fun educational classes like how to make your own Elderberry syrup at home. They have big plans for the future so keep an eye as they are constantly changing and evolving! I am happy to be apart of this incredible shop and am grateful for the way that by simply watching them operate it challenges me to grow as a small buisness..they are so inspiring to our community as it is our first refill station to come to town!
They's hours are Monday- Saturday 9am-4pm closed Sunday Tel: 904-439-5381
